The 2025 session of CS High School Fellowship has started. The program will closely follow the content and assessment schedule of our first-year unit INFO1110. Participants can view the latest Unit of Study Outline at: https://www.sydney.edu.au/units/INFO1110/2025-S2C-ND-CC
The program will run alongside the University’s Semester 2, starting on 4 August and continuing for 13 weeks, with a mid-semester break between Weeks 8 and 9. The University of Sydney academic calendar is available at: https://www.sydney.edu.au/students/key-dates.html
To suit your schedule, we have made the following key changes from INFO1110 outline:
– We will not run weekly workshops or tutorials, as these are less effective in an online setting.
– Instead, we will offer weekly consultation sessions via Zoom, staffed by casual academics. These will be held on selected evenings each week. Attendance is optional, and you are welcome to drop in to ask any questions about the program.
We are also including a face-to-face component so that you can meet each other and the teaching team:
– We plan to run two to three in-person workshops throughout the semester—at the start, middle, and end of the program.
– The first workshop will be held on Saturday 9 August (afternoon 1 PM to 3 PM) and will serve as both a welcome event and an introduction to the project theme. This will be a great opportunity to meet your peers and form teams.
– The final workshop is scheduled for Saturday 8 November, where groups will present their projects and receive awards.
– An optional mid-semester workshop will likely take place in late September, though the exact date is still to be decided.
Next week, the participants will receive an invitation to join our Edstem site. This will serve as the central platform for accessing learning materials, assessments, and the discussion forum. Once everyone has joined, we will post further announcements there.
All the participants should have received the above email. If you are a participant, and have not received this email, please let us know at cs.hsfp@sydney.edu.au
