Program Overview

The Computer Science High School Fellowship Program (HSFP-CS) is an opportunity for talented high school students with a strong interest in programming, problem-solving, and university-level computer science.

Hosted by the University of Sydney’s School of Computer Science, this program invites participants to experience real university coursework through a guided and supportive learning environment.

Who Can Participate?

The program is open to high school students (typically Years 10–12) who:

  • Show interest and ability in coding and computational thinking
  • Are motivated to explore university-level concepts
  • Can commit to a 13-week learning schedule during school term

No formal prerequisites are required, but prior experience with programming or mathematics is beneficial.


What Will You Do?

Students in the HSFP-CS program will:

  • Complete the Introduction to Programming INFO1110, an undergraduate-level course at the University of Sydney
  • Engage with weekly lectures, coding exercises, and programming challenges
  • Participate in online consultation sessions with university tutors
  • Attend 2–3 in-person workshops on campus
  • Build foundational skills in Python programming and algorithmic thinking

Program Format and Timeline

  • Start Date: Monday 9 August 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks (including mid-semester break)
  • Delivery: Online self-paced learning + live Zoom consultations
  • Workshops: Held on-campus in Sydney (dates announced after registration)
